Midas History

At Midas, we have a proud history of being up-front with our customers.

In 1956, when Australia was celebrating their first Olympics, Macon Midas celebrated the opening of the first Midas service centre in the American state of Georgia.

20 years later, Midas USA opened their first Australian franchise in Launceston. This was the start of many successful Midas businesses. Today Midas is a household name.

In 2000 Midas made another bold leap with the sale of its Australian operation. The change of ownership to Australian hands has meant the beginning of a new era for Midas. Whilst retaining strong ties with the USA, we’ve developed a uniquely Australian focus. We’re committed to ensuring you always know where you stand.

This will ensure that every one of the existing Midas service centres and new franchisees will enjoy the spoils of success for many years to come.
