The difference between a quote and an estimate

In the world of mechanics this is usually an area that causes a lot of heartache for both the consumer and the provider. It is important to understand the difference between these, as clearing this up with your mechanic in the early stages of repairs will save you dollars down the track. If you have received an estimate and no written quote, speak to your mechanic about obtaining one. You have every right as a consumer to know how much money you are about to spend.
